Kieran Culkin, winner of the Oscars and Emmy, joined “The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaging” as a Magnanimal Host Caesar Flickerman. Stanley Tucci played the role in the original quartet of films.
Culkin previously joined the members of the Joseph Zada distribution as Haymitch Abernathy, Whitney Peak like Lenore Dove Baird, McKenna Grace as Maysilee give, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Kelvin Harrison Jr. Fiennes as president Snow. Mollymccann will also appear under the name of Louella, while iona bell portrayed her double attributed by Capitole Lou Lou.
The new film, based on the novel of the same name of Suzanne Collins, revisits the world of Panem almost a quarter of a century before the events of these films, where Haymitchy of Woody Harrelson served as mentor to Katniss Everdeen by Jennifer Lawrence and Peeta Mellark of Jennifer Lawrence.
In “Sunrise on the Reaping”, Haymitch is the main character, while the action begins the morning of the 50th hunger games, known as that of the second quarter, in which he enters the deadly arena.
“The presence of Kieran scene flight and the undeniable charm are perfect for Caesar Flickerman, the broken host of Panem’s darkest panem show. Stanley Tucci has made Caesar unforgettable – and now Kieran will make the role of his role,” said the co -president of the Lionsgate film film group, Erin Westerman.
Culkin joins the franchise in the middle of the hottest sequence of his long career. Earlier this year, Culkin collected the best actor in Oscar support (as well as almost all other precursor prices) for his performance in front of Jesse Eisenberg in “A Real Pain”. He is halfway through Egot’s status after winning the drama of the main actor Emmy for the last season of HBO “Succession”, where he played Roman Roy. Culkin is currently appearing in Broadway with the closed counter of “Glengarry Glen Ross” with Bob Odenkirk and Bill Burr.
The cinematic adaptation of “The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaging” will be published on November 20, 2026. Lawrence, which directed each episode of the franchise from “Catching Fire” of 2012, will direct from an adaptation of Billy Ray scenario. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson by Color Force will produce. Cameron Macconomy will be executive products. So far, the five franchise films have collected more than $ 3.3 billion at the box office.
“Sunrise on the Reaping” sold 1.5 million copies during its first week of sales in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The 1.2 million copies sold in the United States are twice the first week of sales of “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and three times the first week of sales of “Mockingjay”.
“The magnetism, mind and unpredictability of Kieran make him a perfect fit for Caesar Flickerman,” said Jacobson. “A host like César transforms brutality into entertainment, and an actor as superimposed as Kieran ensures that we do not look away.”
Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien supervise the Lionsgate project. Phil Strina negotiated the agreement for the studio. Culkin is represented by WME, Brookside Artist Management and Relevant. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report its casting.
