Kidnapped woman found after 17 years in Delhi: cops

New Delhi:
A 32-year-old woman who was abducted 17 years ago in 2006 has been found in Delhi’s Gokalpuri, police said on Thursday.
According to DCP Shahdara Rohit Meena, “On May 22, a team from Seemapuri Police Station on secret information found the 32-year-old (now) kidnapped girl who was kidnapped 17 years ago.”
As a result, a case registered under Section 363 IPC was registered in 2006 at Gokulpuri police station in Delhi on the complaint of his parents, they added.
“The girl was kidnapped in 2006 and during the investigation the girl revealed that after leaving her house she was residing with a person namely Deepak in Cherdih village District Baliya, UP and by the She subsequently left Deepak in custody after an argument and started living in Gokalpuri in rented accommodation,” police said.
According to DCP Shahdara Rohit Meena, 116 abducted/kidnapped children/persons and 301 missing persons have been recovered by Shahdara district so far in 2023.
