Kid Cudi was called upon to testify in the Sean “Diddy” sexual trafficking and racketeering.
Prosecutor Maurene Comey announced Tuesday that the rapper, who had a relationship with the ex-girlfriend of Combs, Cassie Ventura, is expected to take a stand on Wednesday or Thursday.
During the trial, Ventura had previously testified that Combs had learned that she was going out with rapper Kid Cudi during one of her “freak-off” games while browsing her telephone messages. Combs, said Ventura in her testimony, threatened to explode Cudi’s car, before the vehicle exploded in early 2012. She also testified that Combs was threatening to release two sexual recordings featuring her and that he would send an individual to harm him and Cudi.
After Ventura has filed his trial for the first time – which also included the allegations concerning his car – in 2023, a representative of Cudi confirmed to the New York Times That one of his cars exploded, but had not provided more details. “All this is true,” said the representative at the exit at the time.
Cudi will testify after George Kaplan, a former employee of which Ventura testified, had resigned after having witnessed mistreatment, by CNN.
“I feared for my career. I feared for my family. It’s just embarrassing, all of this,” said Ventura will testify last week. “It could ruin everything for what I worked for. Make me look like a slut. ”
More to come.
