What is not? The texture of khapachuriThe famous georgian cheese bread was a little different, perhaps softer, than expected. Certainly, your criticism grew up with Georgian food in the house, and could be a little biased in terms of comparison; My American companion was perfectly satisfied with his texture.
Atmosphere: We visited the afternoon, which frankly does not do justice to its usual atmosphere. Based on videos published on the establishment’s Facebook page, it could be more memorable to go there in the evening, when Georgian wine flows.
Who picks up the check? Each dish costs around 15 to 20 €, and if you try several, the invoice will make you go back from around 80 to 100 €.
Spotted: Georgian wine consumption horns, called khantsiSitting on a shelf. Reserved for celebration opportunities, to drink khantsi means that you cannot fix one before it is empty.
Initiate Council: Get a reservation – We were lucky a Sunday afternoon, but even then, all the other tables were reserved.
Funny fact: The owner Nino, who has lived in Belgium for 18 years, said that she had a snack shop where she would sell Georgian specialties. One day, she decided to close it. But after being begged by regular customers deprived of Georgian snacks, she rather opened a restaurant.
How to get there: The restaurant is not far from the basilica, so we suggest taking the metro in Simonis, then bus 13 to stop Nereus.
