After reports emerged earlier on Friday that a serious injury put the Wrestlemania 41 match between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton in Jeopardy, Owens announced to the crowd on “Wwe Smackdown” that he will need a neck operation and not only miss Wrestlemania, but he will not be sure when he is back in front of fans. Managing Director Nick Aldis prepared the field and told the crowd that there was a reason they said “do not try it at home” and presented Owens so that fans can hear him from him.
Owens said that for four months, he had been faced with a fairly serious neck injury, but did not know exactly what it was before this week. He explained that he needed neck surgery and that the timing could not be worse, because he said that not being able to enter the ring with Orton in Wrestlemania is really zero. Owens thanked the WWE for allowing him to explain the situation to fans, because he was not sure when he will have the privilege of being in front of them. He thanked the fans and said he was sorry.
The success of Orton’s music and he came out to watch Owens. The pair exchanged looks on the apron before Owens set up the ramp, leaving “the viper” in the ring with Aldis. Aldis told Orton that it means that he no longer has a Wrestlemania match, and Orton hit the general manager with a RKO.
