Kevin McCallister’s ‘Home Alone’ house on sale for $5.25 million

Remember this epic house from “Home Alone”? You know, the one where Kevin McCallister fended off those clumsy burglars? Well, it’s up for grabs.

The famous home from the classic 1990 film just hit the market for the first time in 12 years, with a price tag of $5.25 million.

Located in the upscale Chicago suburb of Winnetka, Illinois, this 9,126 square foot gem was built in 1921 and is listed by Kathryn Moore of the Dawn McKenna Group of Coldwell Banker Realty.

Located at 671 Lincoln Ave., they shared a glimpse of the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home on Instagram, calling it “a piece of American history.”

The exterior of this Georgian-style mansion looks like it did when little Kevin (played by Macaulay Culkin) was left to deal with those two incompetent burglars on Christmas Eve. But step inside and it’s a whole new world of luxury.

And remember that dark, scary attic that Kevin was really afraid of? It is now a bright and airy suite with a full bathroom and deep soaking tub.

The rest of the house has also been completely renovated. No more compartmentalized rooms and dark, wallpapered kitchens. Instead, you’ll find expansive open spaces and a gourmet kitchen with two islands.

This home, which enjoyed an Airbnb overnight stay in 2021, includes a sunroom, a huge basement ‘sports court’, a fully equipped gym and even a state-of-the-art cinema room.

“My favorite vacation movie house. I love the transformation! Impeccable,” exclaimed one Instagram user.

Another added: “Wow. This house has been completely transformed – what a story! It looks great! These films are always on our Christmas watch list.

Another tagged Culkin himself, urging him to move back in.

The house has only been sold twice since the iconic film was released.

So if you’re hoping for a slice of cinematic history, this property could be yours. Just think about the holiday season.
