Actor Kevin Bacon says he is not jaded after losing money in the Ponzi program of former financier Bernie Madoff, but he still stings all these years later.
Bacon discussed the incident in a recent interview with Esquire, almost two decades after Madoff’s criminal operation collapsed.
Madoff, founder of an eponymous company of Wall Street, was sentenced to a 150 -year -old prison sentence in 2009 for managing the “biggest program of Ponzi in history”, according to the FBI.
Authorities arrested Madoff in December 2008 for securities fraud for an amount of $ 64 billion. In 2021, Madoff died in federal prison at 82.

Bacon and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, were one of those frauds Madoff. We do not know how much money the couple lost, but Bacon told the podcast “smartless” in 2022 that they kept “the most” of their money with Madoff.
During his interview with Esquire, Bacon said that the memory of Madoff still persists nearly two decades later.
“I go to this gymnasium. He has a few machines and only a handful of people there at any time. There are no showers, it’s very bare bones. But there is a press machine.” The machine is right next to a window, and when I look out the window, I look at the building where Madoff was. “
Bacon said the view of the old Madoff building is motivating.
“I am in atrocious pain, I make the leg press, looking at this window. It is perfect, in a fun way, because I must also think:” I can pass through that. “And that’s what we felt about Madoff,” said Bacon. “He was null, and we were certainly angry and all the things. But then we woke up the next day and said,” What do we have? We love each other. We love our children. We are in good health. No one has removed our ability to earn a living. “So we returned to work.”
People affected by the Ponzi regime have received compensation through the Madoff victim fund. In December 2024, the Ministry of Justice said that Madoff Victim Fund paid $ 131.4 million, a fraction of what was lost, against around 2,400 victims.
The representatives of Kevin Bacon did not immediately respond to Business Insider.
