Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton Join Netflix Limited Series ‘Sirens’

Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton Join Cast of Upcoming Netflix Limited Series ‘Sirens’ Variety has learned.

The duo join previously announced leads Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock and Meghann Fahy in the dark comedy. Variety In February, Netflix exclusively announced that the series would be available. It comes from “Maid” creator Molly Smith Metzler and is based on her play “Elemeno Pea.”

The series takes place over the course of a weekend at a lavish seaside resort. According to the official synopsis, “Devon (Fahy) believes his sister Simone (Alcock) is having a seriously creepy relationship with her new boss, enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s cultish lifestyle of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time to intervene. When Devon tracks her sister down to tell her WTF, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be.”

Bacon will play Peter Kell, who comes from a wealthy old family and is the highest-ranking person in every room he enters. He is an outdoorsman who enjoys the occasional joint.

Howerton will play Ethan Corbin II, “a close friend of the Kells and a longtime bachelor who lives next door. He’s a regular at the yacht club and a quick spender of his trust fund,” according to the character description.

Bacon is also set to star in the upcoming Amazon series “The Bondsman” from Blumhouse TV, after previously playing the title role in the Amazon comedy series “I Love Dick,” which aired for one season and earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Bacon has also starred in the Showtime series “City on a Hill” and Fox’s “The Following.” He is best known for his film roles, including his iconic performance in the film “Footloose,” as well as “Hollow Man,” “Mystic River,” “Apollo 13,” “Tremors,” “A Few Good Men” and many others.

He is represented by WME, MGMT Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

Howerton is best known for his role as Dennis Reynolds on the FXX comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” which he also co-developed with co-star Rob McElhenney. With the premiere of its 15th season in 2021, it became the longest-running American live-action sitcom of all time. Howerton’s other television credits include “The Mindy Project,” “AP Bio,” and “That 80’s Show,” as well as films such as “BlackBerry” and “The Strangers.”

“Sirens” is the first project from Metzler’s multi-year overall deal with Netflix following the breakout success of “Maid.” She is the writer, showrunner and executive producer of “Sirens” under the Quiet Coyote banner. Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie also executive produce LuckyChap. Nicole Kassell will direct the first two episodes and will also executive produce.
