Lest you think après-ski outfits are all cable sweaters and fur-lined boots, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber are here to set the record straight.
The best friends have made Aspen their fashion show over the past week, interspersing blizzard-appropriate down jackets and ski pants for double black diamond runs with luxe black dresses and fur coats to then take over the town square. In the spirit of the best celebrity couple outfits, these close-knit friends (and their stylists) are interpreting the post-facelift dress code in radically different ways. From their personality hats to the winter 2025 shoe trends to their feet, they couldn’t have more opposite interpretations of runway style.

First there is Kendall Jenner. Last winter, she told me in a Harper’s Bazaar interview that The Row was the “obvious” designer to wear to a ski resort. She doubled down on her proclamation a year later, pairing a sculpted Alaïa blazer and vintage fur hat from A Part of the Rest with The Row’s Idaho leather tote. She hit the muddy sidewalks in a pair of Ann Demeulemeester riding boots, a nod to her equestrian hobby and the catwalk’s recent obsession with country style. Black Commando tights, oval sunglasses and leather gloves give a finishing touch to her outfit, one that conveys rich girl energy in every stitch.

While she shares a stylist in Michelle, Hailey Bieber took a completely opposite route, less Swiss chalet and more downtown New York. The Rhode founder tapped into all of her everyday signatures, ditching the vintage fur coat she wore earlier on the trip for a Saint Laurent leather bomber jacket, straight-leg jeans and a Yankees baseball cap.
Her shoes, while fitting for the preppy side of the show, were also the opposite of Jenner’s. Instead, she chose a pair of The Row’s “Boyfriend” loafers, a sophisticated take on the boat shoe trend that’s set to dominate spring 2025.

Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber have more in common than their outfits might first suggest. They’re both business moguls and models, and they’re both ready to take their favorite designers with them for a trip to the mountains. (Bieber is a longtime fan of Saint Laurent’s bags, coats and shoes; Jenner, meanwhile, has a weakness for copy-pasting entire looks from The Row show.) Maybe these after-hours outfits skiing and related shoe trends simply say the same thing. in a different font: You don’t have to dress like someone else on vacation.
