Kelly Ripa Thought She and Mark Consuelos Ruined Andy Cohen’s ‘WWHL’: ‘We Just Put the Nail in the Coffin of This Show’

Watch what’s happening live encounter Live with Kelly and Mark this morning in a nostalgic talk show crossover.

Andy Cohen spoke with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on their eponymous talk show, where the three discussed WWHLIt’s the 15th anniversary. In honor of the milestone, Cohen said they are “beginning a summer of celebration this month.”

“There’s going to be a party next week, and there’s a ton of stuff happening on the air that you’ll hear about soon,” he exclaimed. “It’s really exciting.”

Cohen also treated Ripa, Consuelos and Live viewers to the very first co-hosting couple WWHL appearance, which they made via Skype in 2009.

“We were in Maine visiting our daughter at summer camp,” Ripa recalled. “Let’s see how this goes.”

In the clip, Cohen asks Ripa, “Kelly, if you weren’t on TV, what did Mark say your job would be?”

Consuelos intervenes: “What is your vocation? »

Ripa responds: “My calling is definitely to be a model. »

As for Consuelos’ guess? “A party planner.”

As Cohen hilariously recoils at the response, Ripa and Consuelos are seen laughing. Once the cameras returned to Live soundstage, Cohen exclaimed, “Look how young we are! My hair is so black.

Ripa joked, “I remember we did this show, and we signed with you and I said, ‘We just put the nail in the coffin of this show.'”

Fortunately, as Consuelos noted, they “clearly didn’t,” and he then asked Cohen why he thought the series “resonates with so many people.”

“I think because it’s fun and it’s very authentic. It’s spontaneous,” Cohen said. “We do not pre-interview our guests. We’re not really planning much! And it’s called Watch what’s happening live. Everything can happen.”
