KCPD reports shooting homicide in Independence Plaza area

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department responded to a homicide Sunday morning.

KCPD dispatchers were notified of a shooting near 8th Street and Olive just before 10 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers were then directed to a second man inside a parked car. He also suffered from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

KCPD does not know the circumstances that led to this shooting, but homicide detectives and crime scene personnel are actively investigating.

There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS that leads to an arrest in this case.
