It has been a little more than a week since Katy Perry went to space, and she could still adapt to the gravity of the earth – or, at least, that is what it looked like in viral videos of the kick -off of the tour in 2025 of the pop star on Wednesday evening, showing a little little impressive choreography with low effort.
The concert was the first of a three -night residence in Arena CDMX in Mexico City, and marked the start of Perry’s “Lifenettes Tour”, supporting the release of his Return 2024 return album, 143. In the images downloaded from the concert, it is shown that the show is somewhat conceptual, presenting a loose plot based in a video game on Perry-a “half-human, half-machine”-taking an “all-powerful AI called the mainframe”.

In an exhibition narrated at the start of the show, more details on the plot are revealed – as the mainframe stolen the butterflies of the world and that dogs abandon their friendship with humans in favor of cats – but the whole story half -cooked, the stage show itself seems to have completely failed the “cool dance” element of any classic pop element.

Now, several moments extremely inspired by the show have accumulated millions of views.
In one, Perry gives Dark Maul Vibes with a double -faced red laser saber weapon, with which we are supposed to believe that she fights the bad guys (the “mainframe”). In reality, she crosses the scene a little slowly and motioned for her enemies with the staff. At one point, an enemy literally catches the lightsaber and the two play a kind of rope. As several Reddit commentators have pointed out, even the children could have choreographed a better combat scene.
In another video, Perry is seen to make a choreography at the level of the intermediate school before falling to the ground with his feet in the air, which prompted this Large tweet (and NSFW).
In all, in the wake of the recent innovative stage shows (such as the Lady Gaga Coachella set) and monumental nostalgia tours (like the “Eras tour” by Taylor Swift), Perry’s presentation is simply flat. To quote a commentator on Tiktok, Perry “may have spent less time in space and more in rehearsals”. Look at the clips by yourself below (or look at the whole show here).
Regardless of the choreography, the “Tour des Dresses de Vie” will continue. After finishing in Mexico on May 2, Perry will bring the show to the United States for an American leg striking Houston, Chicago, Las Vegas, and more, followed by certain Australian dates. Then, in July, she will return for another American leg, performing in Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, New York and more. Get tickets here.
