Kate Winslet cringes at ‘legend’ label at Golden Globes 2025

An avatar, a meme, she does it all.

Kate Winslet, who has had a decades-long career in the industry, appeared shocked when host Nikki Glaser called her a legend at the 2025 Golden Globes.

The comic actually, called Winslet, Cate Blanchett and Colin Farrell all “legends” but when Glaser said the “Titanic” star’s name, Winslet’s face gave off a look of cringe.

The Oscar winner, 49, later made a “why me?” face as her expression was captured by the cameras.

“Kate Winslet hiding from the camera is funnier than probably anything else we’ll see tonight,” a second tweet read.

“Kate Winslet’s face LOOOOOL.” another user chimed in, while someone else wrote, “Kate Winslet looks so miffed at being called successful. #GoldenGlobes.”

Winslet was up for two Sunday tonight at the star-studded event, which took place at LA’s Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Glaser, 40, meanwhile, continued to roast the star-studded room during her big night.

To start the show, the “FBoy Island” host called it “Ozempic’s biggest night,” and quickly went after Ben Affleck — who wasn’t even at the award ceremony or nominated.

“Tonight we celebrate the best of film,” Glaser said. “Wicked. Queer. Nightbitch. These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms.”

Later in her monologue, she made a joke about Harrison Ford that involved Ariana Grande and Zendaya.

“I was actually talking to Harrison backstage, and after he gave me his drink order, I asked him, I said, ‘Would you rather work with Zendaya or Ariana?,’ and he said Indica,” Glaser teased.

Glaser also lightly poked fun at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, stating, “She’s here tonight with her new fiancé, Benny Blanco. And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Lucky guy.”

To no surprise, Glaser also made fun of “Wicked” — and “Joker 2.”

“I did not know a lot about ‘Wicked’ going into this because I had friends in high school but I loved it,” she quipped. “I loved it so much. My boyfriend loved it, my boyfriend’s boyfriend really loved ‘Wicked.’ It was so much fun. It’s so much fun seeing a musical in the theater. Some theaters had issues with the theaters. ‘Wicked,’ some people said it was ruined because people were singing.”

As for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga’s film, she noted: “Some people complained it was ruined by the images on the screen and the sounds that accompanied them. I’m sorry, ‘Joker 2.’ Where is their table? Oh, they’re not here. That’s right.”
