Kate Upton Stars on Sports Illustrated 2024 Swimsuit Cover

When it comes to slaying for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Kate Upton has it covered.

“It never gets old,” the 31-year-old model said after getting a first look at her fourth solo SI Swimsuit cover on CBS Mornings on Tuesday.

Upton, whose doe-eyed gaze and contoured curves earned her the title of “Rookie of the Year” in 2011, reclaimed her superiority on the magazine’s front page in May. She had already made her cover in 2012, 2013, 2014 – a flip cover – and 2017.

For her spring 2024 resurgence, a return made to celebrate SI Swimsuit’s 60th anniversary, Upton cut an hourglass figure in a red and pink pinstriped, ruffled bikini.

The two-piece from Turkish fashion house Normaillot framed her sculpted abs.

The bombshell’s blonde locks danced around her face as photographer Yu Tsai took the best photo in Mexico.

Upton praised SI Swimsuit Editor-in-Chief MJ Day for spotlighting mermaids of all shapes, ages and skin tones.

“It’s about being confident in our bodies, no matter what you look like,” Upton told CBS. “When this magazine started, (the fashion industry wanted) to put everyone in a box.”

“MJ really took this magazine and made it empowering for all women.”

Day, who has run the glossy zine since 2014, tapped Upton, as well as SI Swimsuit icons Hunter McGrady, 31, Chrissy Teigen, 38, and newcomer Gayle King, 69, to shine as eye candy on this year’s cover.

Each of the pin-ups received individual frontispiece elements for the pub’s epic anniversary edition.

The SI Swimsuit 2024 rollout also includes three additional collectible covers, showcasing 27 of its beloved luminaries such as Christie Brinkley, Tyra Banks and Paulina Porizkova.

“We brought together some of our most influential alumni for a legendary photo shoot,” Day told SI Swimsuit. “Of course it comes back to history.”

“But more importantly, it is a window into the present – where we are right now – and a hope for the future.”
