Kate Middleton’s mom Carole ‘needs reassurance’ after ‘desperately upsetting’ time: expert

Kate Middleton’s mother Carole Middleton needs “reassurance” after learning of her daughter’s cancer diagnosis, a royal expert has claimed.

After the Princess of Wales, 42, revealed her health struggles to the world last month, her parents Carole, 69, and Michael, 74, stepped in to support their grandchildren during this uncertain time.

And according to royal expert and former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, the princess’s cancer battle has taken a toll on her worried mother.

“We should also think about another mother, Carole Middleton,” Bond told the Mirror.

“Catherine may be 42, but she is still Carole’s little girl, and seeing her go through this and resist the pressure of bullying to explain herself must have been desperately upsetting.”

“She has undoubtedly been a tower of strength and a comforting presence for the children, but she too will need reassurance,” Bond added.

While Middleton undergoes treatment, her parents have reportedly been spending quality time with their grandchildren Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

They are also the grandparents of their daughter Pippa Middleton’s children: Arthur, 5, Grace, 3, and Rose, 1.

“They will have rallied around her, especially her young family,” royal commentator and biographer Duncan Larcombe told the Mirror last month. “Carole and Michael will have essentially thrown a security blanket around the young children to protect them.”

“At times like this, for Kate, it’s extremely important. It is crucial that children are taken care of,” he added.

Larcombe added that Michael and Carole also support William, whom they consider their “adopted son.”

Larcombe said Michael and Carole were “desperately distraught” by their eldest daughter’s diagnosis.

Since the Prince and Princess of Wales made Windsor their permanent home base last year, Carole and Michael have been able to spend more time with their grandchildren.

The duo are based in Berkshire, England, just a 40-minute drive from Windsor.

Princess Kate revealed on March 22 that she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment after doctors discovered the cancer during her planned abdominal surgery.

It is understood that Middleton decided to share the news of her cancer with the world that day, as it was before she and William’s children left school for the Easter break.

The Post revealed Welsh “sweetened” his health concerns by breaking the news to their youngest son Prince Louis, but had a more “difficult” conversation with George and Charlotte.
