Kate Middleton’s brother, James, feuding with ‘nightmare’ neighbor: report
Kate Middleton’s brother, James Middleton, is reportedly in conflict with a “nightmare neighbor” who is trying to attack his family.
The mental health advocate, 37, claims in a new report from The Independent that David Alderton, 65, has put up malicious posters around their village of Stanford Dingley and frequently complains about noise and light pollution from the family farm in Berkshire.
According to the outlet, Alderton runs a motorcycle dealership and lives in a bungalow across the street from Middleton’s farm. He is said to have fallen out with the royal neighbor after joining a group who objected to a planning permission application lodged by James – and has now warned Kate’s brother that “things are going to get brutal”.
Their relationship reportedly became so unpleasant that James reportedly requested that they communicate only by email or through the local council, noting that a mediation program had done nothing to quell the vitriol.
More royal coverage you won’t want to miss:
“Mr. Alderton has a history of conflicts with neighbors in the village,” James told the outlet. “In 2017 he took legal action against the parish council and a parishioner, and intimidated residents for objecting to a series of planning permission applications, all of which were refused. »
Page Six reached out to both parties for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
Alderton declined to make a statement to The Independent regarding the most recent report. However, he alleged to the Daily Mail in February 2023 that James was using “grossly unsuitable machinery” which released “unwanted toxic and noxious” fumes.
“They are old, noisy, dirty and smelly machines, old Massey Fergusons, an old threshing machine, wood chippers, etc. “, he said at the time. “It’s a farm, so I guess he thinks he feels justified in having farm machinery even if it’s abandoned.” But it has a duty of care to its neighbors and the environment – it must not impact anyone nearby.
The father-of-one then disputed the allegations.
“It is sad that someone who chooses to live in the countryside in a farming community cannot accept that from time to time there is noise and smells of tractors and animals, especially if they live next door of a farm,” James explained.
“We would be neglecting our duty of responsibility to the animals and the countryside if we did what he asked us to do with our livestock.”
According to The Independent, everything took a bizarre turn last July when James and his family went on vacation and asked a house sitter to watch their property.
The family’s dogs reportedly frightened guinea fowl, causing the birds to screech and prompting Alderton to walk up to the house sitter and yell at them.
“Shut up the fucking royal birds, you noisy cunt,” he reportedly said.
James told The Independent that he first contacted authorities after the birth of his son, Inigo, whom he welcomed with his wife Alizée Thevenet in October 2023.
“The police were contacted shortly after our son was born, as we became increasingly concerned about the activities of a neighbor,” he shared, noting that the conflict had caused many problems.
“(Mr. Alderton’s actions) have generated community animosity, rumors, resentment and caused anxiety and distress to myself and my family.”
