Princess Kate Middleton won’t return to the spotlight until fall 2024 as she focuses on recovering from her battle with cancer, according to a new report. “No one wants to put pressure (on Kate),” said royal expert Richard Eden. Daily Mail on Thursday May 23. “The only thing that matters right now is that she gets better.” She went through an ordeal this year. Concretely, this means that important decisions, such as appointing new employees, can wait.”

The Princess of Wales shared her diagnosis in March, explaining that after a successful abdominal operation in January 2024, doctors discovered the disease in her body. Since then, Kate has remained on top of her health. “This has of course been a huge shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” Kate said. “We hope you understand that as a family we now need time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. … My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back as soon as I can. But for now I have to focus on making a full recovery,” the princess said.

Earlier this month, Prince William gave a brief update on Kate’s condition after being interviewed at the opening of James Place Newcastle. “Everything is fine, thank you… We are all fine,” he replied to a spectator.

Although she’s MIA when it comes to “calls for service”, Kate works with her Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood. According to a representative – who said Daily Mail this week, she looks forward to the next steps in her work alongside the foundation. “This is a clear commitment she has made, throughout her life in public service, that this will be her priority. This will continue when she returns to work… But we have been very clear that she needs space and privacy to recover now. She will return to work once she gets the all clear from doctors,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said.
