Kate Middleton doing better despite cancer treatment

Kate Middleton may not be planning her next royal event just yet, but the good news is that the princess is officially on the road to recovery.

A May 28 report from Vanity Fair, written by royal reporter Katie Nicholl, revealed that Middleton is responding well to her cancer treatment and will likely see greener pastures very soon. The report said the Princess of Wales had “turned a corner with her treatment in recent weeks and is feeling much better”.

“It was a great relief that she was tolerating the medication and doing much better. It was of course a very difficult and worrying time,” a family friend told the outlet. “Everyone rallied behind her: William, her parents, as well as her sister and brother.”

With some glimmers of hope emerging in recent weeks – Middleton working on her Royal Early Years Foundation taskforce and being spotted running solo errands – royal fans are eager to know when the Princess of Wales will return to the public eye. Vanity Fair‘s source noted that we’ll still have to wait a little while before she begins carrying out royal duties.

“There is no timetable and there is no rush. It will be when Catherine feels ready and when she gets the green light from her medical team,” a source close to the royal family told Nicholl. “But she will 100% return to work, there is no doubt about that.”

This isn’t much different from Kensington Palace’s May 21 update regarding Middleton’s return to the public eye. A palace spokesperson told the BBC that “the princess should not return to work until her medical team gives the OK.”

In the meantime, the princess will continue to rest, recover and spend time with family. Per Nicholl, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are currently on school holidays and the whole family is said to be spending them at Amner Hall, where they are also spending the summer.
