Kate Hudson wore a bohemian lace-up dress

It’s no secret that a renaissance of bohemian dressing is upon us (see: the Chloé spring-summer 2024 fashion show). Kate Hudson brought the aesthetic to prime time in a major way during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

On May 2, the actress-turned-singer stopped by the talk show to promote and perform her new song “Gonna Find Out” from her upcoming album. Glorious. When Hudson took the stage, she wore a white and gray feather-print maxi dress with a plunging lace-up neckline, a fringed skirt and wide wing-shaped sleeves with frayed ends. Hudson accessorized the look with a matching scarf adorned with gold studs and chunky themed bracelets. Chromatic silver heeled ankle boots complete the ensemble.

Her blonde hair was styled in a mid-part and tousled waves, and even her glam screamed indie sleaze with a smudged eyeliner look.

During the interview portion, Hudson kept things a little more tailored with a rust-colored leather pencil skirt, a brown velvet long-sleeved shirt, and black pointy-toe pumps. She even changed up her accessories with gold cuff bracelets and green earrings.

While chatting with Jimmy Fallon, Hudson talked about her freshman album, which she made with songwriters Linda Perry and her partner Danny Fujikawa over two and a half years. Although this was her foray into the music industry (meanwhile, Hudson had a long and successful film career), Hudson said she always had an affinity for music.

“It’s a great feeling,” she said of her album’s release later this month. “I love music. I’ve loved music my whole life. It was my first love, and I’ve been writing music my whole life, and I just thought it was something I didn’t would have that for me until COVID, and then I was like, ‘I’ll regret not putting this out in the world.'”

Hudson’s debut album Glorious comes out May 17.
