Kansas Babysitter finds the man hiding under the child’s bed: NPR

The myth of a codi hidden under the bed has come true for a Kansas family this week after the complaint of a child led to the arrest of a man.

The Barton County Sheriff’s Bureau said in a statement that it had responded to information reporting a disturbance in a house outside the city of Great Bend on Monday.

The unnamed baby-sitter told the authorities that she was preparing the children for the bed when we complained of a “monster” under their bed. His efforts to reassure them differently did not go as planned.

“When the victim tried to show the child that there was nothing under the bed, she found herself face to face with a male suspect who was hiding there,” said the press release from the Sheriff. “An altercation ensued with the baby-sitter and a child was overthrown in the fight.”

The suspect is a 27 -year -old man who “lived once at the residence,” said the press release, but who was under an “abuse protection order” which forced him to stay away from the property.

NPR does not publish its name because it was charged in the context of this incident. The online judicial files cited by CNN and Kake News Show which he deposited a deposit approximately 10 days earlier after being accused of criminal threat, domestic battery and violation of a prescription for the protection against mistreatment linked to incidents in January and February.

The press release indicates that the suspect fled the premises before the arrival of the deputies on Monday evening, but was spotted in the region and, after a “short footing”, placed the next morning.

He was arrested for aggravated abduction, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, endangering children, an obstruction of crime of a law enforcement agent and a violation of protection against the abuse order, the statement said.

According to the press release, the man is held in the county prison instead of a deposit of $ 500,000. It is not clear if he has kept a lawyer.

Although someone’s fears hide under the bed are omnipresent, they do not materialize very often.

In 2006, a former valet at Washington Hospital, DC, was sentenced to more than three years in prison to track down an employee of the hospital. He would have made copies of his keys, slipped a video camera on his dresser and hid under his bed for two nights before being discovered by the boyfriend of the woman.

In 2016, a woman from Tennessee discovered her ex-girlfriend hiding under her bed when she had a security system installed to protect herself from him (she had already deposited a protective prescription and changed her locks several times), according to an affidavit of the Nashville police reported by Wztv News. She pulled him in the foot and held him under the threat of a firearm until the police arrived, the police said.
