The 89th Masters game experienced a flamboyant start to the Augusta National Golf Club Thursday, with English Justin Rose ending the day at the top of the classification.
The first major of the year started with a Jack Nicklaus ceremonial t-shirt, Gary Player and Tom Watson. After that, 95 players started the quest for the iconic green jacket.
Rose, 44 years old, got into a strong position to win her second major majority in career, after having displayed an opening lap of 7-mine 65 in career, her fifth time at the top of the tournament after the first round.
Rose, which are three shots in front of the world number 1 Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Åberg and Corey Conners, has already succeeded in succeeding in Augusta, finishing in second place in 2015 and 2017.
Although he has never won the popular tournament, Rose’s confidence never hesitated to get there one day.
“I feel like I played well enough to win this tournament,” said Rose after the Tour. “I just feel like I don’t have the jacket to prove it. … I obviously played, I played a lot of good golf rounds here. I have a lot of crystal, which is obviously always nice.
“But yes, you know, in the end, you want to be the last man standing on Sunday, and I was shy – I suppose that Sergio and I in 2017, it was a real 50/50. It could have gone in this direction in the section. A little luck here and there is always the difference here sometimes.
“But I had my chance on occasion and I was champion. But you have to play golf to continue to create these opportunities, and obviously the only way to do so is to make a name for you in the ranking. I certainly do not fear it.”
Scheffler, a double champion of masters, entered the Tournament le favorite des bets and he certainly looked at the role.
Scheffler, 28 years old, transported a 68 without Bogey to sit at a headache from the head before the second round on Friday.

Scheffler, who hopes to join an exclusive club by winning a third title of Masters and is fortunate to be the first player to defend his green jacket since Tiger Woods in 2002, said that he felt “quite well” about his score of four.
“I had the feeling that the golf course was going to become quite firm,” said Scheffler. “The domains to hit your irons here are quite small and they become even smaller when the Greens are firm, so there is certainly a challenge for the golf course today, and I’m sure it will continue over the week.”
Rose will be revealed at 8:52 am while Scheffler begins at 1:23 p.m. he.
The world n ° 2, Rory McILroy, quickly went to look like a real competitor for his young green jacket to possibly miss the cup.
Through the first 14 holes, the 35 -year -old took place on a peer round of 4 sous, without Bogey.
It was until the last holes.
McILroy, who won twice this season on the PGA Tour, including in the players’ championship, took a pair of late Bogeys and was satisfied with a 72 which saw him fall from second place to 27th in the standings.
The Northern Irishman refused to speak to journalists after the Tour.
In his pursuit for a big career chelem, McILroy will seek to bounce back on Friday with time of 9:58 a.m. and hour.
A round to forget for Dunlap and Ballester
It was a nightmare round for two young people – American Nick Dunlap and Spanish amateur Jose Luis Ballester.
Dunlap, 21, playing in his second career in career, pulled a historic 180 opening tour against 90 to find himself in the last place in the ranking.
Dunlap, a double winner of the PGA Tour, became the first player under 38 to fail 90 at the Masters.
This is the worst score of the Masters since Ben Crenshaw’s 91 in 2015.
Dunlap did not speak to journalists after the Tour.
Life arrives at your fast, especially when you are young.
For the 21-year-old, Senior Ballester of Arizona State University, it took place to the detriment of things beyond his real game.
Last year, the American amateur winner Ballester, who played alongside Scheffler and Justin Thomas on Thursday, admitted to having been in the bathroom in Rae’s Creek in Augusta National.
Ballester said he forgot that there were bathrooms near the 13th hole t-shirt box and relieved in the stream to the delight of spectators.
“I didn’t really know where to go, and since (Justin Thomas) had a problem on green, I say to myself, I’m just going to sneak here in the river and probably people wouldn’t see me as much, then they applauded for me,” said Ballester.
“Probably one of the applause that I really got very strong today, so it was pretty funny.”
Ballester added that he had no regrets.
“They saw me. It was not at all embarrassing for me. If I had to do it again, I start again,” said Ballester.
Dunlap will be turned off at 12:50 p.m. while Ballester is at 1:23 p.m. he.
