Jurrien Timber called on his Arsenal side to “change the story” around their weakened front line with a convincing victory against the PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League of the last 16 Tuesday.
The Gunners were criticized after a real struggle to score goals following injuries to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
The club in northern London failed to score in its last two games and played the defensive midfielder Mikel Merino in advance due to a lack of options.
They come up against a Dutch team that has scored 73 impressive goals in 24 Eredivisie games – 22 more goals that we hit in their 27 Premier League matches.
“I think the motivation is there,” said Timber.
“Tomorrow is a great game and a chance to change the story and win.”

He added: ‘(this is) to win the match. We have to score tomorrow, we have to win matches.
“In the Champions League, you only have two games, so you don’t get the second chance and this will be the case for tomorrow.”
Timber was full of praise for adolescent Ethan Nwaneri, who became a regular on the first team following a series of front line injuries.
The 17-year-old was on the bench when Arsenal went to Eindhoven for a group match of the Champions League against the PSV last season which ended 1-1 in December.
“I think it’s incredible to see, incredible to be part of,” said Timber.
“I can’t wait (to see) what the future has in store for him. I hope that tomorrow, he can also show a little magic.
