Jung Hoo Lee of SF Giants again shows power by victory in victory on the White Sox

Scottsdale, Arizona – The recruit season of Jung Hoo Lee ended prematurely with a shoulder injury last May, but the voltiseur continued what was an impressive return to the Giants in the 7-3 Thursday spring game victory against the White Sox.

Lee showed his power with a two-point home run during the third round, leading to the Willy Adames short stop to put the Giants 3-0 early. It was the second Lee spring circuit and its eighth stroke in 20 bats.

“I have the impression that the success that I have at the moment in spring training is certainly that a process that we have all crossed, not only by myself but with the team, with the trainers and the organization,” said Lee through the Justin Han team. “They helped me very well and supported me 100% to bring me coming here and come back with a healthy mind. I just wanted to give this to the organization and I just do my best to help the team. »»

The manager of the Giants, Bob Melvin, placed Lee third in the alignment behind the left lamonte Wade Jr. and Adames this spring, trying to take advantage of the two left -handers surrounding Adames and his right -wing power.

“Lee likes to swing. I know we got it last year when he was there. It looks like it is much better suited to the three holes right now, “said Melvin.

Lee did not create his success this spring for a mechanical change, but like all the best strikers, he continued to tinker with things to improve on the plate after beating .262 with a 641 ops in 37 games last season.

“There are a lot of discussions with the knocking coaches and a lot of communication that helps me,” said Lee.

A change that occurred during the offseason had nothing to do with Lee himself, but rather the man he says that he is honored to play in the central field.

The right launcher Justin Verlander made his second official start from the Cactus League on Thursday. At 42, Verlander showed lightning of the AS and the future temple of fame that has been spent for years. The veteran did not bother to have the help of Lee against the White Sox and seemed enthusiastic to play with the talented central champion.

“I think it’s someone who comes with high expectations, rightly, and I think talent is gaining at any level,” said Verlander. “From what I understand, in the limited time before he seemed to be surpassed and does not do it now.”

While Lee was not surpassed on Thursday, the Rag-Tag White Sox had trouble going against Verlander. He launched four rounds, collected four stick withdrawals and granted four strokes and a deserved point. Verlander’s quick ball oscillated around 93 and 94 MPH before letting it detach in its last work round, launching a few throws at 96 mph.

During the first quick ball that touched 96, Verlander seemed to turn to the dashboard in the right field to check its speed.

“It has always changed to me,” said Verlander about his quick ball in training in the spring.

Asked about the new curve he presented during the weekend in a simulated game, Verlander offered an interesting answer.

“I throw it in the same way,” he said. “I tinker.”

As for the evaluation of his manager of Verlander’s day, Melvin had no concerns about his new launcher.

“He launched 96 and he looked like Justin Verlander,” said Melvin. “He is very led there. Abandon a blow and abandon a race, he is upset in a spring training game, which is somehow that he is. It was really good.

Notable

* The third goal player Matt Chapman, also in the middle of an impressive spring formation on the plate, launched a pair of solo circuits in his three At-Bat strikes. It cuts now .462 / .611 / 1,154 to 13 bundles in six games. The pair of explosions pushed the total of Chapman spring to three.

* The left -handers Joey Lucchesi and Enny Romero both appeared in the late sleeves, continuing to fight for spots as a left -handed help in the enclosure of the lifts. Lucchesi worked an eighth aimless while Romero had trouble at the top of the ninth. Romero has granted a pair of success, including a two -point home run to White Sox catching prospect Adam Hackenberg.

In 2,2 limited work rounds, Lucchesi has not yet made it possible to run in Arizona.

* Before Thursday’s match, Melvin discussed the Giants’ desire to be more aggressive on the Baspaths in 2025. The Giants finished second in the majors with only 65 stolen bases last year. The team slipped three bags on Thursday, including one by the receiver Patrick Bailey.

“He has very good feet,” said Melvin about Bailey. “As a receiver, you know in a way the cadence and who tries to pay attention … training in the spring is the moment to discover what you can do.”

The defender of the Grant McCray center represented the other two flights on Thursday.
