Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane in the running for the Ballon d’Or, SPOTY and the Golden Shoe of EURO 2024

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year award, the Ballon d’Or and the Euro 2024 Golden Boot are all coveted awards which see Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane among the favourites.

Bellingham and Kane were the center of attention on Tuesday evening as Real Madrid took on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Both enjoyed great success with their new teams abroad in their first seasons in La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Bellingham was seen whispering in Kane’s ear just before the striker’s penalty, which was likely an attempt to distract him.

Kane, however, needed much more to stop him from scoring and easily converted the penalty.

It was his 43rd goal of the season and he clearly staked his claim to the coveted 2024 Ballon d’Or.

But can Kane still win the award without a trophy for Bayern? They are currently at 6/4 to qualify, now they have to face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are renowned for always finding their way through the UCL, especially at home, making the second leg a must-see in what will likely have huge Ballon d’Or ramifications.

Madrid has a 6/5 record to win the Champions League and therefore wants to win against Bayern then the final against Dortmund or PSG.

Either way, Harry Kane will have a chance of winning the Champions League Golden Boot, with the former Tottenham man 1/1.

The two English players figure prominently in conversations around the first contenders for the next Ballon d’Or.

They both head to the EURO regardless of UCL results in fantastic form and their performances at international level will surely influence the votes if one outperforms the other.

The Real Madrid and Bayern Munich stars are also in the running to win another iconic award, BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

But they will have to overcome darts sensation Luke Littler, who is currently favorite for the award at 4/1.

Kane is one of the big favorites to win the Golden Boot for EURO 2024, but it is difficult to rule out Bellingham after his 17 goals in 25 La Liga matches and four more in the UCL.
