When Josh McDaniels was dismissed as a broncos head coach in December 2010, it took him a little more than a month to get a new job as an offensive coordinator of the RAMs.
McDaniels’ second coach’s stay stay also ended with a lasting in season, but he did not jump into a new job this time. McDaniels was dismissed by the Raiders at the end of October 2023 and he remained unemployed until his return to the Patriots for a third pass as an offensive coordinator in January.
During a press conference Thursday, McDaniels said that it was “a blessing” to have this free time because it gave him the opportunity to look at the League from a different point of view from what he cannot work for a team.
“I had a very good opportunity last year to look at football without much delay, which was a new interesting opportunity for me and to see different things that arose throughout the league,” said McDaniels, via a transcription of the team. “There are younger quarters who play a little earlier than they may have 10, 12, 15 years old. There are different things that people use and do schematically that are very successful. There are trends as there are always who did not know, but I really really had a healthy league at the moment that I have to improve myself, which I must start thinking about incorporating. »»
McDaniels said that the process will make him a “different” coach of what he had been in the past and that hope in New England is that a McDaniel change can always draw all the right strings for their offense.
