Josh Duhamel has ‘become a bit of a doomsday prep’ in case ‘it hits the fan’

Josh Duhamel is preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best.
The ‘Shotgun Wedding’ star swapped the Hollywood Hills for something a little quieter – a cabin estate in the woods.
And according to him, life in the desert has equipped him to be prepared for whatever life throws at him.
“I’ve become a bit of an apocalyptic prepper, I guess,” Duhamel told Inverse. “I’m building something so if things go wrong I have a place to take my family.”
The 50-year-old said he was learning to fish so he could catch his own dinner and perfecting his hunting skills.
At first, the estate he owns included “a little cabin in the woods with no electricity or water,” he told the outlet.
But when the neighboring property came on the market, he felt compelled to buy it.
“I have a tractor. I have a skid steer loader. I change tires. I change oil. I fix things. I move dirt, I pop rocks,” he said of his estate.
“We shaped the territory. We have created trails through it. In fact, I grow crops there. This year I will grow pumpkins and corn.
The actor, who is married to model Audra Mari, clarified that his desire to learn off-the-grid skills was born in case “it hits the fan” back home.
“I have this crazy fixation about what happens if it hits the fan in LA and I have to take my family over there and live off the land,” he shared.
“I believe we could live off the land there. I’m not very good yet, but I’m getting there. »
Duhamel shares 9-year-old son Axl with his ex-wife Fergie, to whom he was married from 2009 to 2019.

He tied the knot last year to 29-year-old Mari in a gorgeous wedding in North Dakota.
The former pageant queen and the ‘Win a Date with Tad Hamilton’ actor started dating in 2018, after the latter split from Black Eyed Pea singer, 48, in 2017.
Duhamel remains on good terms with Fergie, and she even congratulated her ex-husband on his engagement.
