Jonesboro woman competing on Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – A Jonesboro woman represents the Natural State across the pond.

Rose Hankins is competing on The stars of Gordon Ramsay’s gastronomy, a reality competition series in which “hopeful entrepreneurs pitch themselves as they compete for one of seven spots to win,” according to the show’s website.

Hankins, owner of Twisted Dough, said the show’s producers found her.

Hankins previously owned Twisted Foods, a business she lost after her business partner was arrested.

“When the food stars found me, it was almost like the world gave me back what I had lost,” she said. “For three years, I just kept packing, filling orders, growing this business. And then all of a sudden, all these good things happen. »

Entrepreneurs at the show themselves pitch their products, services or business ideas to Gordon Ramsay and Lisa Vandepump, then choose candidates to form their teams.

Hankins said she found herself mentoring other candidates.

“Everyone called me my mom and the CEO of the show and I was kind of everyone’s friend. Everyone wanted my advice on how to run a business. So, I felt like Jonesboro was well represented on the show,” she said.

Hankins was in London earlier this year to film the series.

“Being able to experience another culture, another country and their way of life was not only beautiful, but it made the experience even more intense,” she said.

Hankins has remained tight-lipped about the winner and her placement on the show, but she said she is still in contact with the contestants.

“I actually went to visit all four of them before. I’m still going to visit another one coming up, and I’m going to Chicago to do a big show with one of them, so I keep in touch. They became my friends for life,” she said.
