Jon Rahm apparently made a number of enemies in the field at the Masters last week.

The 2023 champion defected to LIV Golf this winter and played Augusta National for the first time since this week.

He received a mixed reception from his former colleagues, including at least one who didn’t even recognize him.

Asked if he received a warm welcome, Rahm told Golf Channel Latin America: “Some did. I expected that.

“And then there was someone else who I expected to be a little tougher…and one of them hugged me.

“I think out of all the relationships I’ve had, this is everything I expected. My friends are still my friends.

“And then someone, who I was very cordial with and had a positive relationship with, didn’t even look at me.

“If someone changes their mind about me, it’s more their problem than mine. I’m not worried.

“I knew it was going to happen. I didn’t know who.

In addition to the somewhat frosty reception, Rahm struggled with the course – scoring a par nine for the tournament and finishing tied for 45th, his worst finish at Augusta National.

After scoring a one-over in the first round, he battled against the wind on the second day and made the cut at five over-par. A tied third round was followed by another four-way round on Sunday to finish at nine over par.
