The UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones continues to show signs that the highly anticipated unification fight between him and the acting heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will not occur.
In response to a tweet asking if he was retired, Jones did not deny this notion and said he “appreciates life”.
Jones has been more active on social networks in recent days while promoting the reality TV series he is currently shooting in Thailand. He has not fought since his defeat of Stipe Miocic in November, which was his first fight since March 2023 following a launch of one year due to a shoulder injury.
During the time of Jones far from the octagon, Aspinall won the acting title of heavy goods vehicles in November 2023 and defended it last July. The 32 -year -old man would be the future of the heavyweight division, but he was in a model of detention while waiting for Jones to accept a title unification fight.
Despite the criticisms in progress from fans, Jones maintained his position according to which he did not fight against Aspinall:
The 37 -year -old also indicated that he had already informed the UFC of his decision to find out if he was fighting again:
Jones also clearly indicated that he was not worried about being stripped of the heavyweight title due to his inactive inactivity:
While Jones is considered the most talented fighter in the history of the UFC, put an end to his career on a sour note by not facing a worthy competitor would surely disappoint most MMA fans. The continuous lack of transparency concerning his status will not help things if the situation ends with him does not fight Aspinall.
