The UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones apparently appreciated Dana White’s position on the petition calling to be stripped.

Since the defense of the heavyweight belt against the Miocic stipe, now retired, at the end of 2024, Jones rejected a fight against Tom Aspinall. It is despite the British fighter holding the interim title of the division since November 2023 and successfully defending it.

Jones’ The avoidance of a unification fight gave birth to anger and frustration in the MMA community, even leading to a viral fan petition with more than 188,000 signatures calling to the UFC to strip the “ bone ” of its title.

White finally approached the Jones petition During the post-combat press conference of the UFC 316, and his comments were probably not what the creator of the petition hoped to hear.

“Each human on earth the DM (the petition) for me,” said White. “How many fans are there around the world now, what is the number?”

“Like 400 million and 130,000 people want to see him stripped. It’s a bit silly. “

Jon Jones appreciated Dana White playing the petition of viral fans

In the months that followed Direct elimination victory of Jones on MiocicWho marks his only defense during the two years when he held the heavyweight belt, “Bones” remained active on social networks.

The native of Rochester did not move away from engaging with fans who criticize his position and his potential retirement, frequently displaying his detractors and in Aspinall.

After one of these tweetstorms a few days ago, Jones reappeared on X with a short reaction to Whites position on the largely sustained petition.

The native of Rochester went further than White’s estimate of the UFC global fans, comparing rather the number of signatures with the global population of the earth.

“200,000/8,000,000,000,” wrote Jones.

Dana White has still not excluded Jon Jones fighting Tom Aspinall

The latest updates of the truck title saga have not been positive for those who still hope that Jones and Aspinal will share the octagon.

After the latest series of Jones social media diatribes included other retirement advice, the temporary holder came out and insisted that he was far from joke by saying that “Bones” decided.

Despite this, however, White has still not excluded that the match materializes during its UFC 316 press. And the CEO of the UFC even shocked fans to claim that “bones” have already accepted the fight.

However, he seemed surprised to learn that Jones claims that he would have no problem abandoning the title of heavy goods vehicles and going to sunset.

Dana White did not follow the latest “gossips” between Jon Jones against Tom Aspinall:

“He said he was ready to leave the belt? It is crazy. … If he speaks so crazy, I didn’t realize it.” pic.twitter.com/do3qssswik

For the moment, the heavyweight division will continue to be blocked by the presence of two titles and two champions, without a combat between them in sight.
