A number of stars from the world of sport, including John Terry and Laura Robson, have sent their best wishes to Laura Woods after she revealed she suffered multiple cuts following a freak accident.

In a post shared on social media, Woods revealed that during a getaway last weekend, she “threw a pillow at a glass lampshade” which then shattered and left her face and his arms covered in lacerations.

The 36-year-old is known for her work covering the Premier League, Champions League and boxing on TNT Sports, having previously served as a breakfast presenter on talkSPORT.

Woods added that his injuries prevented him from traveling to Saudi Arabia to take part in the broadcaster’s coverage of Saturday’s undisputed heavyweight title clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Writing on Instagram, former England star and Chelsea icon Terry wrote: “Get well soon (prayer emoji, heart emoji).”

Detailing the incident that led to her injuries, Woods revealed she was lucky the falling glass missed her eye.

“I threw a pillow and hit a large glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me, which shattered and cut my face and arms, but luckily I missed my eye.” She wrote on Instagram.

“I wanted to say a few thanks, firstly to Adam, for being my hero that day, for acting so quickly and for not leaving my side since, and for his family who took care of me at a time when I was petrified.

“To my agents Alex Maguire and Matthew Odonohue at CAA who immediately sought out the best help. To Dr. Yannis Alexandrides and his wonderful medical assistant Zuzanna at 111 who opened their emergency practice and came on their days off, they have been so kind and have already made magic that I didn’t think was possible to reduce the damage.
