Henderson, nev. – John Spytek was appointed Director General of Las Vegas Raiders.
Spytek enters its 23rd year in the NFL after spending the last nine seasons with the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay, as Deputy Managing Director (2023-24), Vice-President of the Player Staff (2021-22) and Director of the Player staff (2016- 20). Since he joined the Buccaneers in 2016, Tampa Bay won five appearances in the playoffs, six victories in playoffs, four southern NFC division titles and a Super Bowl championship. The six victories in the team’s playoffs since 2016 are tied for the seventh largest number of the NFL during this period.
During his stay at Tampa Bay, Spytek helped write four players who won the honors of the All-Rookie PFWA team (CB Vernon Hargreaves, LB Devin White, T Tristan Wirfs and RB Bucky Irving) and five players who were Selected in a combination of Nine Pro Bowls and Nine Pro Bowls and three selections AP All-Pro (WR Chris Godwin, DT Vita Vea, White, Wirfs and S Antonie Winfield Jr.). He was also an integral part of the signatures of the keywords of the keywords C Ryan Jensen, LB Shaq Barrett, DT Ndamukong Suh, QB Tom Brady and Qb Baker Mayfield, while helping to exchange by Jason Pierre-Paul and Te Rob Gronkowski. The Buccaneers were the only NFL team to have several draft choices selected in the All-Rookie team in consecutive seasons from 2019 to 20. Before joining Tampa Bay, Spytek spent three seasons with the Denver Broncos, where he worked as Southwest Area Scout in 2013 and as a national scout of 2014-15. The regular broncos season and 42 victories in total were the most in the NFL during this three -year period, culminating in a victory for the Super Bowl 50 after the 2015 season.
Before joining the Broncos, Spytek spent three seasons (2010-12) as director of university scouting of Cleveland Browns. While with the Browns, Spytek helped write six players who won the honors of the PFW / PFWA All-Rookie team and five players who were selected in a pro bowl.
Spytek began her career in players’ staff as an intern with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005, winning a full -time scouting assistant position in 2006 and spending three years as college / professional scout from 2007 to 2009 .
Originally from Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Spytek played the secondary at the University of Michigan from 1999 to 2002, obtaining a baccalaureate in general studies and a master’s degree in sports management.
Spytek and his wife, Kristen, are the parents of Jack and Thomas. Together, they co -founded the National CMV Foundation in 2014 to educate families on the congenital CMV, a virus that finally won the life of their 21 -month -old daughter, Evelyn, in 2014.
