John Kerry defends elites flying gas-guzzling private jets in Davos

John Kerry, the president’s special climate envoy, defended attendees who flew on gas-guzzling private jets to Davos, Switzerland, where global warming is often seen as a pre-eminent crisis.
Notably, around 1,040 private jets are said to have flown in and out of airports serving the world economic summit in 2022, “releasing four times the average weekly CO2 emissions of this highly polluting mode of transport”, Euro News reported.
In an interview over the weekend, Yahoo News’ Ben Adler asked Kerry about the contradiction of many global warming alarmists flying gas-guzzling private jets to Davos. The event took place from January 16 to 20.
Adler began to formulate his question. “You recently changed, I read, from flying a commercial private flight -“
“No, I didn’t take a private flight while I was in this role,” Kerry shot back, saying he only took two private flights during the pandemic.
“I fly commercially,” he said.
Alder tried again. “The reason I bring it up is because private aviation is an example of something where people start to pay more attention and – but when people who go to Davos to talk about climate change are traveling privately, it looks like they don’t want to do –”
Kerry cut Alder off and vindicated those stealing privately. “Well, actually…I told them about it. They compensate… They buy compensations, they compensate. And they’re working harder than most people I know to be able to try to make that transition,” he added:
