Jogger finds ‘alien creature’ with ‘human’ lips on Australian beach

Drew Lambert was jogging on a Sydney beach on Tuesday when he came across an “alien creature” with “human” lips. He posted a video on Facebook of the creature washed up on Bondi Beach, asking people to help identify it.

Lambert told Storyful, a news and content provider, that the animal appeared to be nearly half a meter long and had lips like a human and skin like a shark.

“I’ve lived in Bondi for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like it before,” he told Storyful.

Laetitia Hannan, supervisor of Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, told it was a coffin ray, also known as the Australian numbfish. According to the Atlas of Living Australia, this is a type of electric stingray found on the east, west and south coasts of the country.

Lambert’s discovery comes less than three weeks after another mysterious animal popped up in another part of Australia.

Alex Tan, a pastor, came across the corpse of an “alien” creature on a walk in Queensland and posted clips about it on his Instagram page. Since his discovery, he has been on an online crusade for answers about the animal in question, even trying to recruit Robert Irwin, the son of the late Steve Irwin.

“I think it’s something that everyone is so invested in and we just want answers,” he told CBS News. “People want answers.”
