The UCLA quarter-rear, Joey Aguilar, should enter the transfer portal, an informed source of the confirmed decision to Athletics.
Aguilar, a transfer of the state of the Appalachians, entered the portal in December during the winter transfer window and chose the Bruins, where it went through spring football and was in competition for the departure position. But the quarter-depth graph changed considerably on Sunday, when the old quarter of Tennessee Nico Iamaleava signed with the UCLA.
In two seasons at App State, Aguilar began 24 games, launching 6,760 yards, 56 affected and 24 interceptions. He also ran for 452 yards and five affected. The former quarter of the Junior College has obtained an additional year of eligibility in winter due to the derogation of the cover of the NCAA for the players of the Junior College following the antitrust trial of the quarter of Vanderbilt Diego Pavia.
Aguilar had to be in good position to compete for the departure post at the UCLA before the arrival of Iamaleava. Last week, when rumors about the transfer of Iamaleava surfaced, an informed source of Aguilar’s thought said that he intended to stay and compete for the position.
But the same source said that Aguilar had a change of heart and that he will seek to spend his last eligibility season elsewhere.
What are the potential landing points for Aguilar?
The most obvious potential option, which would be fascinating given the circumstances, is Tennessee. Flights are still looking for a third quarter of scholarships, and the options currently available in the portal are without interest. Aguilar would be immediately the most experienced and productive starter of the portal at the entrance.
Syracuse is still on the quarter market and recently welcomed the former Starter of the State of Georgia Zach Gibson for a visit and would have the transfer of Notre-Dame Steve Angeli to the campus today. Orange tries to find a successor for Kyle McCord.
The starter of Tulane in 2024, Darian Mensah, was transferred to Duke in winter, and the green wave could potentially add a smuggler. They were considered a potential factor on the market of Iamaleava, but quickly moved away from the old leaving Tennessee.
