Of all the controversial men that Joe Rogan has met over the years, we seem to have had a darker impact than most.
“My father would have transformed me into AF *** Ing psychopath,” said the 57 -year -old podcaster about his father, Joseph Sr.
“He was crazy, it was a psychotic person … someone who cannot keep it together. I watched him beat the guys in a bar. He was a karate guy.
Rogan’s father, now a retired New Jersey cop in the 80s, vehemently denied allegations. Indeed, they have not been repeated since Joseph SR’s lawyers sent Rogan a letter warning against “defamatory declarations” in 2022.
But his claims of violent education continued to raise eyebrows – especially Rogan’s own half -sister.
Rosa Rogan Lunelli, 46, told Daily Mail that she had never met her famous parent and angry with anger the statements he had also against their elderly father.

“Since the reception by Joe of the letter of the lawyers, he has no longer talked about his abuse affirmations,” explains Rosa.
“My family categorically denies these statements. There was no contact from Joe to want to meet our father or us.
This is a regret point for Maga’s supporter, Rosa, who said she felt “proud” when Rogan interviewed Donald Trump last October during a three -hour conversation that helped to propel the president in the White House.
“It was absolutely an influential moment of the campaign when Joe interviewed Donald Trump before the elections,” she told Daily Mail.
“Our family fully supports President Trump and his agenda and what made him so influential is something that has never been done before.
“Joe has the ability to shape the thoughts, feelings and attitudes of people through his podcast, so bringing President Trump. Our family was happy that the podcast was so successful for the Trump campaign.
So what is the truth of the extraordinary background of Rogan, who saw him pass from a disturbed childhood to one of the most powerful media in the United States?
Born in Newark in 1967 by Joseph Sr. and his mother Susan, Rogan’s parents separated at the age of five.
He and his mother then moved to San Francisco two years later while his father remarried and had two daughters, Rosa and Bridget. Father and son have not spoken since.
A young Rogan settled in the suburbs of Haight-Ashbury, whom he described as “the middle of Hippie San Francisco”.
His new neighbors were a gay couple with whom her mother “would be naked and would play the bongos and the smoke jar”. Susan quickly remarried, to a “hippie” computer programmer that Rogan never appointed publicly.

Describing his new life in SF on his podcast, The Joe Rogan experienceHe said, “All of a sudden, I live with this hippie guy in San Francisco around a bunch of gays. I went to live around these Italian psychopaths of New Jersey in San Francisco, Peace and Love.
As a teenager, Rogan again moved to Newton, Massachusetts, where he fought in a new high school and took karate to feel more confident.
“I was really terrified to be a loser. It was my fear n ° 1 in life, “he recalls in 2014.” I was afraid of the future. Martial arts have given me not only confidence, but also a different perspective from myself and what I was capable of. I knew I could do something that I was terrified.
“I don’t think I would never have become who I am if I hadn’t learned martial arts at a very early age. I think the best decision I have ever made in my whole life was to immerse myself in something incredibly difficult.
Indeed, it was an experience which would prove to be instrumental in the landing of Rogan a concert in 2002 as commentator of the Ultimate Combat Championship, where he quickly made his name.
At the time, a 35 -year -old Rogan joined two ends as an actor and a standing actor, and he had just started to host the NBC Gameshow Fear Factor.
But he drew the attention of the UFC chief, Dana White, who had taken control of the combat championship the previous year.
White had wrapped the VHS bands to go from New York to the new UFC headquarters in Las Vegas. He played at random and, out of pure coincidence, it showed that Rogan was interviewed on Fear Factor. But as White recalls, “all he would talk about was the UFC … and what the UFC fighters would do to the guys of martial arts in the films. I was like “that’s exactly what I need”.

Rogan was so passionate about the championships that his first 13 appearances making comments in color were free. But he quickly established himself as a well -informed and popular presenter.
“At the beginning, no one understood the game on the ground,” said White, a close ally of Trump himself last year. “Rogan would guide you through what was literally happened before it happens.
“He would tell you the configuration, which would happen and he would articulate it perfectly, brilliantly, and people at home began to understand. The impact that Joe Rogan had, and continues to have, on this sport, is immeasurable.
Rogan continued to welcome the fear factor until 2006, when he fought with a competitor, whose wife Rogan had criticized for hitting a rival. The program was canceled the same year for independent reasons.
But he remained a leading element at the UFC where his theatrical reactions with the Knockouts made him viral.
In 2021, he interviewed Conor McGregor a few minutes after the bloody fighter of the UFC broke his leg in a match. Then, a year later, he was filmed by fighting on his chair during a dramatic fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman.
But its stratospheric climb to the Superstard came through its podcast The Joe Rogan experiencethat he launched in 2009. He quickly found the momentum and, in two years, had signed an agreement with the Siriusxm radio service.
Then in 2020, he made the big time: signing an amazing agreement of $ 200 million with Spotify, where he now has 14.5 million followers, as well as 20 million YouTube subscribers.
And with these figures, it came a great influence – and not to mention the controversy. In the show, Rogan drew the reasons why the moon landings could be false, if the Egyptians have really built the pyramids, and he was even accused of having pushed anti-vaccine views during the pandemic.

Previous guests have included scientists, astrophysicists and authors such as the North Korean defector Yeonmi Park, the billionaire Tesla Elon Musk and the meta-PDG Mark Zuckerberg.
In 2019, it was thought that he could be the manufacturer of kings of the Democrats after interviewed Bernie Sanders and having approved him to be the party candidate in the next elections.
But five years later, his political ideology changed – Rogan Interviewing Trump and Elon Musk.
Trump was desperate to win Rogan’s approval in the 2024 elections, the urgent to support the GOP throughout his three -hour podcast interview. But Rogan did not grant it before the 11th hour – and only after the Democratic Rival of Rogan and Trump, Kamala Harris, had not agreed on the conditions concerning an equivalent appearance.
“Joe Rogan approved me, isn’t it great?” Trump said on the eve of the elections after learning the news at Pittsburgh. “He doesn’t do that, he doesn’t do that. And he tends to be a little more liberal than some people in this room.

And yet, it seems, the cracks are starting to show themselves.
Rogan made the headlines last week after seeming to criticize Trump’s mass migration policy, saying that the innocent people could languish in a “hell on earth”.
“ You must be afraid that people who are not criminals get, as, have been deposited and expelled and sent, like, prisons from El Salvador. It’s a bit crazy that it might be possible. It’s horrible, “he warned.
All this, however, does not mean for the distant family of Rogan in Newark.
In the sleeping suburbs of Kearny, which houses only 40,000 people, Manhattan’s horizon is looming and Trump flags float outside the houses. You wonder how many residents know that the old man who is still in a jacket and a cap of Pittsburgh Steelers is, in fact, Rogan’s father.
“I am in the 80s, I am in the rear view mirror,” said Joseph Sr. in 2022. “But I would like to see him. I sat definitively with him because he needed to listen to my side of the story. He never asked, I did not know what I have to say. He does not know how much it hurt and what I had to live.
