Joe Pyfer says he will never return to Mexico after falling ill before his last fight.
The competitor of average weights, which strikes technically stronger than Francis Ngannou, was supposed to compete against Kelvin Gastelum during the Co-Princhipal event of the UFC Mexico City on Saturday evening.
However, Joe Pyfer’s fight was canceled a few hours before the start of the card.
The news was a massive shock to fight fans while Pyfer claimed to be the “healthier than it was” in an interview published just before it retired from the UFC Mexico.
Joe Pyfer detailed the series of events that led to his fight with Gastelum canceled on Sunday.
The 28 -year -old suggested that he had been struck by a stroke of food poisoning after eating in a local restaurant.
Using a language not if Nice, Pyfer explained that it had symptoms of intense diarrhea which saw him go to the toilet more than 10 times at night before his unfortunate fight.
The American was also struck by a fever, nausea, vomiting and “atrocious” stomach pain before a doctor advised him to withdraw from the UFC Mexico.
In the end, Pyfer feels that he made the right one and hopes that his fight with Gastelum can be reprogrammed.
However, he will not return to Mexico so little time after developing a bitter aversion for the country during his trip south of the border.
“I don’t care if it’s offensive for you. I will never go back to this country,” said Pyfer on his Instagram history.
“I did everything correctly. I slept in a tent. I did all this work to become sick. Some people say it was not food, saying that I had the altitude harm. If this is what altitude and elevation is, F- This country.
“I will never fight again.
Things were not so bad for Gastelum, even if he could not compete this weekend.
