Joe Biden announces new US arms and ammunition package for Ukraine
As Russia continues to invade Ukraine, US President Joe Biden announced a new arms package for kyiv on Sunday as he met his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Hiroshima.
Biden said the package would include “ammunition, artillery, armored vehicles” – days after giving allies permission to transfer advanced F-16 jets to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Zelensky appeared to confirm the loss of Bakhmut to the Russians, adding that there was “nothing left” of the town.

When asked if the Ukrainian forces were holding their own or if Russia had captured the city, Zelensky was not entirely clear, but replied “you have to understand that there is nothing” there- down.
“For today, Bakhmut is only in our hearts,” he said.
