JJ Watt and Kealia Ohai announce the birth of their son Koa James

The No. 1 pick in the 2043 NFL Draft has arrived.

Arizona Cardinals star JJ Watt announced the birth of his son on Instagram on Tuesday, posting a photo of him and his wife Kealia Ohai holding the newborn.

“Love and happiness have reached heights we never knew existed,” the All-Pro passing thrower wrote. “Koa James Watt, 10.23.22.”

Koa is the first child for the couple, who started dating when JJ was a member of the Houston Texans in 2016 and got engaged in May 2019. They tied the knot in the Bahamas in February 2020.

NWSL Chicago Red Stars star Watt and Ohai announced they are expecting in June 2022

“Couldn’t be more excited,” Watt, 33, exclaimed in an Instagram post.

Watt’s younger brother, Steelers linebacker TJ, seemed ready for his new duties as an uncle.

“Welcome to the Koa family!!!,” he commented.

It’s good news for the Watt family, who received a scare earlier this month when JJ revealed he had atrial fibrillation – an irregular heartbeat – and “got my heart pumping back”.

Watt had the experience on a Thursday and played against the Panthers three days later on October 2.

“Obviously it’s been a very emotional week for my family, for my wife, for myself,” Watt tearfully told reporters after the victory. “So I’m very happy to have won today. Obviously I had a lot of emotions, but I learned to appreciate the little things even more, so it’s good to have a win today.
