HOUSTON – The star of Golden State Warriors, Jimmy Butler, had a frightening fall at the end of the first quarter and suffered a bass contusion which forced him on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets.
Butler went up to take a defensive rebound on the failed shot of Amen Thompson, and Thompson flew on him. Butler crashed into his area of the cucter and immediately seemed to suffer. Thompson, who was jostling with Draymond Green before going with Butler, was down for a short time before getting up.
Butler remained briefly in the game, making one of the two free throws, but called to go out with 1:51 to play in the first quarter. He clearly had trouble moving.
Butler moved carefully when he returned to the locker room. The Warriors ruled Butler for the match in the second quarter.
If Butler should miss even more time, it would be a hard blow for Golden State. Upon entering match 2, the Warriors had 25-8 (including seasonal matches, play and playoffs) since Butler made his debut with the team on February 8 in Chicago.
He collected 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five interceptions to help the Warriors steal match 1 in Houston on Sunday.
Butler played a total of eight minutes on Wednesday, leaving with three points and two rebounds.
The Warriors starting goalkeeper Brandin Podziemski also only played eight minutes in the first half because of the disease. He entered the game by feeling sick of something he ate, said coach Steve Kerr. The team said in the first half that Podziemski was questionable to come back. It forced Kerr to play Jonathan Kuminga, who had not played since the final of the regular season against the Clippers. The small range leader used, Pat Spencer, also saw the action in the second quarter.
