Jim Miller fought at UFC 100, UFC 200 and now UFC 300 – but he never got dream fight against Georges St-Pierre

Jim Miller has done it all in his MMA career – but admits his dream fight never came to fruition.

The 40-year-old made his UFC debut in October 2008 and since then he has been testing his skills against the sport’s best lightweights.

Over the years, he has faced Frankie Edgar, Charles Oliveira, Benson Henderson, Nate Diaz, Donald Cerrone, Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis.

“A-10,” who holds a UFC record for most fights in the Octagon with 43, has won five of his last six fights while continuing to amaze fans with his longevity.

Miller competed at UFC 100 and UFC 200. He will now face No. 14-ranked 155-pound fighter Bobby Green at UFC 300 in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

As well as winning a belt, the father of four has achieved everything he could in the sport and has no regrets after leaving it all on the line for almost two decades.

However, he would have loved the chance to go up against retired UFC two-weight champion Georges St-Pierre, widely considered one of the best fighters of all time.

“I always wanted to fight GSP,” Miller told talkSPORT MMA ahead of UFC 300.

“You know, he’s just an incredible tactician. Although his fighting styles and mine aren’t very similar, it’s just the way he would approach his fighting and look to beat his opponent in one area.

“That’s all he was going to do, one position, one place. And he would take the fight there and he would dominate. I always wondered what that would do to me.

“I know it’s a very difficult fight, but it’s always intrigued me.”

St-Pierre was the first name to come out of Miller’s lips when he was asked to name the four best fighters of all time to create his personal “MMA Mount Rushmore.”

Dana White announces two more fights for UFC 300, including Jim Miller vs. Bobby Green and Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway for the BMF Lightweight title

He added: “GSP, Anderson (Silva). Jon Jones should be there. For me personally, I think Fedor (Emelianenko) should be there too.

“All these guys had great, incredible races. It’s really difficult because there are so many fighters from previous eras that have impacted me and are legends of the sport.

“They built it and inspired me to get into the sport, so I wish there were more than four seats.”
