On Tuesday morning, the Jets were rumored to be heading to their second interview with Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn with plans to make him their next head coach and that effort is still underway as of Tuesday night.
According to multiple reports, the team is working to finalize a deal with Glenn. They also informed other candidates for the position that they were moving in a different direction.
Glenn was identified as a top candidate for the Jets job early in the interview process and he also received strong interest from the Saints. Scheduling the Jets interview initially suggested that this is where Glenn wanted to end up and it appears that is how the Jets search will end.
There’s a similar feeling about Commanders assistant general manager Lance Newmark becoming the team’s next general manager. He also had a second interview on Tuesday and, like Glenn, was the only candidate to be invited back for an additional meeting with the team.
