Jerry Seinfeld sees dozens withdraw from his Duke’s keynote speech

Duke University’s commencement ceremony on Sunday saw dozens of people walk out to protest guest speaker Jerry Seinfield, who has been a big supporter of Israel during the Gaza conflict.

A group of students left their seats at the start of Seinfeld, at least one of whom was carrying a Palestinian flag.

The remaining crowd cheered for Seinfeld, chanting, “Jerry!” Jerry! » at the start of his speech. He received an honorary degree from Duke.

Reports indicate that boos and shouts of “Free Palestine” were also heard.

Seinfeld has been a staunch supporter of Israel since the October 7 attack.

He also met with the families of the hostages and visited a kibbutz destroyed by the terrorist attack during a trip to Israel in December.

Seinfeld did not mention the conflict in Gaza during his speech at Duke. He told students to embrace hard work and what they love, according to WRAL News.

“Find something that you like the good parts of and don’t worry too much about the bad parts – whatever torture you’re comfortable with,” the comedian joked.

“This is the golden path to victory in life. Work. Exercise. Relationships,” he added. They all have a solid component of pure torture, and they are all 1000% worth it.

The walkout was the only disruption to the opening ceremony.
