Jerry Seinfeld heckled by anti-Israel protester during comedy show: ‘Jew haters spice up the show’

Jerry Seinfeld’s recent stand-up performance was interrupted by anti-Israel protesters on Saturday night.

Seinfeld was performing in Virginia when a pro-Palestinian protester stood up and shouted insults at the “Seinfeld” creator, calling him a “genocide supporter.”

“Save the children of Gaza! No more American taxpayer money for genocide!” » shouted the protester.

Audience members quickly began booing the heckler and asking him to “shut up and get out.”

“You should be ashamed of yourselves! You should all be ashamed of yourselves!” » the protester kept shouting to the audience.

Seinfeld was heard commenting: “It’s fun. I like it. I think your message really resonates with the crowd. People seem to be on your side.”

“How dare you support genocide!” » replied the protester.

“I love it when Jew haters spice up the show,” Seinfeld joked.

Additional videos from the evening showed an audience member starting a fight with the protester, only to eventually grab him in a headlock. Security arrived and then escorted the protester out of the room.

The crowd was heard chanting “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” as the protester left.

TMZ reported that there were about eight protesters throughout the night, all of whom were then escorted away by security. Eyewitnesses said Seinfeld told his audience not to boo and supported the right to protest.

Seinfeld also faced protesters during his commencement speech at Duke University earlier this month. Views of the ceremony showed some students shouting “Free Palestine” and dozens more walking out just as he was being introduced.

Seinfeld has faced public backlash over his open support for Israel as it wages war on Gaza following the deadly October 7 attack. Two days after the attack, he wrote a message “I stand with Israel” on his Instagram account.

“I lived and worked on a kibbutz in Israel when I was 16 and have loved our Jewish homeland ever since,” he wrote in a caption. “My heart is breaking because of these attacks and atrocities. But we are also a very strong people in our hearts and in our minds.”
