Jennifer Lopez Tried Gen Z’s Super-Baggy Pants Trend

Oversized baggy pants and a button-down cardigan are pretty much the quintessential Gen Z uniform, and Jennifer Lopez just started the trend this weekend. The multi-hyphenate, however, brought a millennial touch to the look: the pants were belted and high-waisted.

On Sunday, Lopez was spotted grabbing lunch in West Hollywood in sand-colored paper pants and a beige cardigan with a V-neckline and bell sleeves. The singer took a more classic route with her accessories with oversized circular sunglasses, silver hoop earrings and a mini Himalayan Hermès Birkin. Ivory-colored sandals peeked out from under the pants that brushed the floor.

Lopez’s caramel-colored hair was blown to perfection and styled in a middle part with curtain bangs.

Lopez is a fan of baggy pants these days. Just last week, the star was spotted in some seriously roomy jeans with oversized pockets, which she paired with a turtleneck, white sneakers and her go-to oversized sunglasses.

The very next day, Lopez was seen wearing more generously baggy denim. The jeans were distressed and muddy-looking, and she wore them with khaki-colored R-13 platform boots, a beige sweater, and a huge black Birkin. Once again, her signature combination of sunglasses and hoops completed the ensemble.

Lopez is a fashion icon, so naturally, the artist is gearing up to co-chair the 2024 Met Gala next week (the first Monday in May). By speaking with Vogue Earlier this month, Lopez said it was an “honor” to be part of fashion’s biggest night.

“When Anna (Wintour) called you and asked you to co-host the Met Gala with her, it was like the biggest night in fashion, and raising money for the museum was a real honor,” she declared. “It’s a good thing to be a part of.”

As for her look for the big night, Lopez herself hasn’t completely decided yet. However, this year’s theme is “Sleeping Beauties: Fashion Awakens,” so, Internet, make of that what you will.

“I have several different sketches. I’m still deciding. I’m also one of those people who chooses at the last minute,” she explained. “I like to make choices, and then I say, ‘Okay, this is how I feel today,’ and then we try to create some kind of amazing look, because it’s looks night !”
