Jennifer Lawrence is wearing this divisive summer 2024 shoe trend to death

If you walk into my apartment, you’ll notice a few things. I love design and think I have a certain talent for interiors. things. I’m proud of my house, because most of the rooms you’ll find were actually vaulted (IYKYK). You’ll also see that I work in fashion, as I have a wardrobe overloaded with clothes, but perhaps the number one item of clothing I have in abundance is…shoes.

My shoe collection is large to say the least. You’ll find a range of white sneakers (one of my favorites), kitten heel slingbacks that I’ve worn to death (because they’re so cute and practical!) and lots of ballet flats because they’re comfortable, low cut. Floor-length shoes that always look stylish are a must-have for living in New York. What you won’t see yet (the key word here being: just now) are mesh ballet flats, but they are on their way to me as a guy. I finally purchased a pair this weekend, and while I had no buyer’s remorse, seeing Jennifer Lawrence’s recent outfit only solidified my decision to purchase a style in net.

Lawrence was photographed at the airport in a cool and comfortable travel look that I’ll be flying for my next flight to Italy later this month. She wore all her essentials – because J.Law knows what she likes! – including loose-fitting jeans that look refined but are still comfortable thanks to their loose silhouette, roomy button-up and the “It” shoe of the season: mesh ballet flats.

Lawrence’s mesh ballet flats were a poppy red, which seems like a contrasting idea, since this particular shoe trend is somehow all about appearing almost invisible. In fact, we even considered it the shoe style that squints to see, so it seems like an interesting choice to opt for a poppy shade. But TBH, I’m obsessed, because I think it only adds more dimension to holey flats, especially cool when paired with the blues.

The great thing about the flat mesh trend is that you can choose how you want to do it; if you prefer to keep it subtle, opt for a beige pair that remains a little more camouflaged. But if you want everyone to know, “Hey, look, I’m wearing mesh shoes!” » follow Lawrence’s lead and opt for a bright color or even classic black for high contrast.
