Jennifer Garner cried at her daughter Violet’s graduation

Jennifer Garner commemorated the high school graduation of her and Ben Affleck’s daughter Violet with the most relatable mom message. While graduations usually call for celebration, the actress showed the other side of motherhood by sharing a series of crying selfies.

The first slide of Garner’s Instagram carousel shows the star in a cream sweater clapping inside the ceremony. The next photo shows the mom of three smiling through her tears as she wipes her eyes.

Elsewhere in the gallery, a photo shows Garner on a plane where she lifts her glasses to raise a tissue to her eyes. Video from the plane shows Garner crying as she asks the camera, “How are we going to get there? What are we going to do?”

The very last slide included a hilarious photo of Garner wearing 2024 glasses while looking less than enthusiastic.

“Tell me you have a grad without telling me you have a grad. 🎓 (bless our hearts 🥺♥️🤣),” she trolled in the caption. Garner’s other celebrity moms showed their support and understanding in the comments section. Reese Witherspoon soothed her friend, writing, “Oh baby…I know. 😢 ❤️ You did a great job, mom! I’ll be there for your support and lots of hugs.” Kylie Richards commented: “I feel this so strongly 🙏❤️”, while Rachel Zoe wrote: “Omg JEN I just stopped crying a week after Skys 13 so the same girl loves you madly and stay strong 💪.”

Violet is the first of Garner and Affleck to fly the nest, although they also share children Seraphina and Samuel, ages 15 and 12, respectively. Last year, Garner opened up about Violet’s college application process during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark. “Excitement and stress go hand in hand, but she handles it like a champ and is totally in control,” she exclaimed. “She’s self-sufficient.”

“I’m proud of her no matter what,” she added.

In an interview with People Earlier this year, Garner once again showed her relevance by saying she struggled with giving up control of her children as they grew up. On the other hand, she likes to see them find themselves and what interests them.

“I’m just watching them in this new phase of life where they’re discovering who they’re going to become and what they’re going to study,” she said. “And I’m so interested in them. All the time, I’m interested in everything about them.”
