The former quarter of Denver Broncos, John Elway, led a golf cart that his trading partner and former agent fell and died accordingly.
TMZ reports that Jeff Sperbeck, 62, was rolling in the cart Saturday at the Quinta, California, when he fell and hit his head on the asphalt. Sperbeck was sitting in the passenger seat, a source told ESPN.
He was rushed to the regional desert medical center in Palm Springs. TMZ reported that he had been on survival to life after fall.
According to TMZ, Elway led the golf cart, but “there is no indication that he did anything wrong”.
Elway called 911 after the accident.
The Riverside County Sheriff Department told Kesq to Palm Springs that they had launched an investigation into the incident. The sheriff then published information confirming the death of Sperbeck as A “result of the injuries he suffered from the incident on Saturday”.
Elway played 16 years (1983-1998) with broncos, winning consecutive super bowls with the team in 1998 and 1999 before his retirement. Elway was then CEO of Denver from 2011 until 2020.
In 2013, he and Sperbeck began 7celars Winery together.
