Jeff Duncan: The story of Derek Carr is more suspicious day by day | Holy

The more we learn about the situation Derek Carr, the more confused it is.

There is apparently a new turn in history daily.

And the more we hear, the more suspicious sounds, which could explain why carr officials and saints continue to look like the officer Barbrady of “South Park” when they deal with the subject: “This does not happen. Everyone looks away. Nothing to see here!”

Carr maintained a low profile during the seasons throughout his mandate from New Orleans. For him, it’s time to get away from football and focus on his family, so his silence this spring was not entirely out of character.

But obviously, it’s different.

A shoulder injury serious enough to possibly require surgery and potentially derailing your season is a development not only worthy of comments and transparency, but which requires it.

Better than anyone, Carr knows that teammates, coaches, fans and support staff count on him to lead the team, on and off the field. Communication is one of the requirements of the position.

And so far, all the people involved in this situation have failed.

Until Carr’s comments on Sunday, we didn’t hear anything from him. Instead, he left it to the intermediaries to disseminate information.

Twelve days after head coach Kellen Moore said in the NFL owners, he was “delighted to team up with Carr”, the NFL network announced the news of Carr’s shoulder.

Two weeks later, Carr’s brother David said that the injury would have occurred when Derek took a head to head against the New York giants on December 8 and that Derek did not launch during the offseason.

It is important to note that Carr’s shoulder has never been listed on any official injuries, the saints submitted to the NFL after the giant match. Only the left hand and the concussion were listed on the reports.

Similarly, not only once in the four months since the injury occurred that someone did not mention a shoulder injury during the discussion of Carr or their injury status.

You may remember that after the giant match, the saints maintained the possibility that Carr returns to the field at some point during the 2024 season.

Should we believe that Carr has not tried to test his shoulder to launch once during the month between the injury and the final of the season on January 5 against the Bucs of Tampa Bay? Wouldn’t that have been the starting point for any evaluation of its potential game status?

And even if he did not do so, that tense the credulity of thinking that a starting quarter of the NFL which publicly declared that his best intersane objective was to “become healthy” would not try to launch or test his shoulder at some point during the offseason, and certainly before mid-April.

If you are confused by history, distrustful of its moment and skeptical about the explanations presented so far, you are not alone.

Little sense.

Timing alone requires skepticism.

This is an unusual period for the big news of injuries to occur. On the one hand, I can count the number of major injuries that have been revealed in mid-April during my 25 years of nfl cover. Not to mention as important as the launch shoulder of the starting quarter-tree.

The protocol consists in treating injuries as soon as possible to give the right time for rehabilitation and recovery entering the next season.

Adding to the confusion and strengthening of suspicion is the strange way in which the two parties dealt with the situation.

Carr remained silent until Sunday, when a video of his sermon in a church in Las Vegas was released.

The managers of the saints, on the other hand, refused to comment directly on the subject, apart from a brief declaration by the general manager Mickey Loomis at his press conference before the cog last week who little said that the saints were still looking for “clarity” on the shoulder injury.

When Loomis and Moore were asked about the injury during the weekend, they danced around the subject.

If everything is Jake, why be so secret and evasive?

Instead of hiding behind the off -season protocols and injury policies, why not just approach the situation in a press conference on Zoom? This would greatly contribute to end rumors and speculations that everyone says they fear and hate.

Admittedly, the saints and car have the right to remain silent on the situation. It is their prerogative to keep things private.

Just as we have the right to remain skeptical when the Barbrady agent tells us: “There is nothing to do here.”
