Crystal Palace striker, Jean-Philippe Mateta, returned to the side three weeks after being struck by a horrible kush kung-fu by Millwall Liam Roberts earlier this month.
The Frenchman needed oxygen and 25 stitches in his ear after being brutally withdrawn during the fifth round tie of the FA Cup of his club with Millwall.
He missed a single match for his club – a 1-0 home victory in the Premier League against Ipswich – due to the international break, but trained and succeeded 60 minutes in a friend.
Mateta has now been named in the departure XI of Oliver Glasner for the quarter -final confrontation of the FA Cup of Palace with Fulham.
Speaking before kick -off, Glasner told ITV: “He’s such adorable guy. He spent a week in bed, brought his mother to England and she took care of him.
“The second week, he started to train individually and he always laughed even when his ear was still swollen. He trained well, he feels good, he is good to find him.
